we are being deluged by tv commercials for the mid term elections...in may!!!...what the fuck...this isn't presidential for Christ's sake...each repellent... lizard like politician swearing to be the next re-incarnation of the unconnected everyman...and the everyman...give me a break...the only "everyman" talking politics these days are the conservative right...who as i have told you before are just incredulous at the fact that a black man is president..

...we have huge issues...crude... pumping oil is about to change the earths surface...forever...cause unless you missed it...nobody...including the president has a clue on how to stop this mess...19000 barrels a day ...gushing...into the gulf...pretty soon we won't need pumps...we'll just skim all the oil we need off the fuckin surface...we can burn oil drenched pelicans for light...snapper ala crude...oysters British petroleum...a whole new culinary genre...

the Arizona immigration thing...is this america???...give us your tired... your poor??...?listen...until we are willing to do the work that we need our southern neighbors to do... for what we are willing to pay...they will keep on comin...how many unemployed people would rather pick vegetables for a nickel a pound...rather than sit on their asses collecting unemployment or welfare...none thats how many...because we ...each of us support the illegal existence...whether its at your favorite restaurant...or the guys who labor on your house..clean your hotel room or blow the leaves off your lawn....why do you think there are holes in the godamn wall...to let the the workers through...how about this...pay the Mexican workers what they pay american workers...they will stay in their villages...with their families..

the drugs ...as long as they are illegal here... we build a industry there... driven by our desire for what they have...and we need...

now imagine you are hispanic and have lived, legally, for generations in Arizona or California or Florida...you have to worry that when you son is driving home from school..having forgotten his papers...kids do that...hell i do that!!! and because of the color of his skin he gets sent to jail or a foreign country...or better yet...what if the table was turned...and we asked every white american to be alright with race based searches...bull shit...this conservative shit is going to wake up the sleeping giant...INTELLIGENT AMERICANS...BOTH LIBERAL AND MODERATE...power to the the Americans who remember why we are a diverse nation...a melting pot for the world...happy memorial day people...and lets try to remember why our fellow Americans are fighting and dying in foreign lands...for freedom for all Americans...and obviously a whole lot of other people...

As I age, i find that I am far less accepting of life's little faux pas.  I am surly.  I growl. Today is your memorial service.  Today your friends gather at historic Gracie's to tell tales, laugh and drink to your memory.  I worked for Gracie, thanks to you, sneaky Pete and Steve.  Its fitting, a legendary spot, to pay tribute to the man that inspired me and unknown others to go chase our dreams.  I loved when we cooked together and I found my passion, standing next to you.  You shared your love and unfathomably incredible knowledge of music with me.  I found Jason Ricci, Eric Lindell, Los Lobos and David Migden in our "MO, wait till you hear this moments".  I endured your love of all things Zappa and I survived Zappa torture.  To those unfamiliar with this, it involved the can, copious amounts of inhaleables and song after song of your archives.
