entering the health care arena...

so ...looking at healthcare...i gotta tell ya i feel like i am buying a used car...the reps are slimey...and you can't help but feel they are hiding something...major medical...you know the insurance my dad had ...provided by his company....reeeeciculous and a unbelievable deductible...i really would rather drive a jag...than have a health care...but i never thought it would be a cheaper option...ppo...these guys talk so fast...i wonder if the car actually has tires...they throw things at you like..."hey...if ya get sick and go to the hospital...we stroke you a check for 5K ...for bills or for a vacation...whatever"... seriously...if i am in the hospital...vacations are not on my mind...no deductible = very little protection... pharmaceuticals...cheap as long as it isn't a " premium drug"...which of course i take... you can go to the doctor 4 times a year...and they pay up to 70% ...so i feel like...the kid ...nose pressed up to the glass of the showroom...only to be told that the only car i can afford is the beatup Plymouth in the back with no seats and a hanger for an antenna...i supported our president...but i can find no evidence of a government health care option...and this is what a third of our country is looking at...and it is definitely why we all have no coverage

As I age, i find that I am far less accepting of life's little faux pas.  I am surly.  I growl. I snap at unsuspecting irritants.  I look in the mirror and see  what my life has pulled down on me.  Wrinkles, saddle bags, hair in very strange palaces.  I expect things...simple things to proceed as planned.  If my cellular bill, for example, is due on the 24th, I expect it to be taken out on that date. Today is your memorial service.  Today your friends gather at historic Gracie's to tell tales, laugh and drink to your memory.  I worked for Gracie, thanks to you, sneaky Pete and Steve.  Its fitting, a legendary spot, to pay tribute to the man that inspired me and unknown others to go chase our dreams.  I loved when we cooked together and I found my passion, standing next to you.  You shared your love and unfathomably incredible knowledge of music with me.  I found Jason Ricci, Eric Lindell, Los Lobos and David Migden in our "MO, wait till you hear this moments".  I endured your love of all things Zappa and I survived Zappa torture.  To those unfamiliar with this, it involved the can, copious amounts of inhaleables and song after song of your archives. like a kick in the chest...the wood shot out...kicked out of my tablesaw...i checked to see if i ripped my shirt...and then...was my hand attached to the wood???shit...blood...peeking at the remnants off my hand...okay be cool...grab that rag ...okay ...hospital...but the door to the house is closed...reaching for the knob...with..well not that hand...okay ...tuck the warm, red rag under my arm...squeeze tight...in the house...the beautiful girl asleep...closed last night...try not to scare the shit out of her...honey...honey...HONEY!!!...okay...the whole not freaking out thing impossible...hospital...where???okay down the road...ten blocks...on 5th or ninth...cindy screeching around corners...crying and glancing over at the warm, wet, dripping rag...my ashen face...in the one way entrance to the hospital...passing people who seem to have seen this film many times before...pointing to emergency...their are cop cars everywhere??..hope the girl doesn't get a ticket...warm red drippin
