i just don't get it

So is it to the point where we all really don't give a shit about anybody but ourselves...really...am i getting so old that the values of our generation are completely gone...and worse that we have not passed on anything...of value to those who follow us...if you sit and talk to people...i love doing that...when you listen...you find that your fellow citizens say the darndest things...they hate this president...and i know most of them are not racists...look i do get how awful it is out there...but we are all confederate in our own destruction...we allowed a president...an administration...to bankrupt us...to line their pockets and back away...allowing another administration to absorb the cost...and pay the public relations bill... but the convenience of blaming everything on president Obama is so far from the truth that... i just don't get it...
but here's what is so baffling...the people who are bitching...the disenfranchised...conservative...white people ...are for the most part... poor and middle class Americans...the ones he is fighting for...there was a time in this country where we rooted for the underdog...the american dream is based on that very concept...work hard...pay your taxes...save...and with a little luck you can be rich...but naively... i never considered what happened after that...that because of your hard work and dedication...you got to join a club that lives off the very backs of the working class you were part of...tax cuts to insure you keep all your wealth...a political system peopled by your now peers...who like the old farmer...delicately balances the tax load of a nation on the back of one mule...instead of spreading the load amongst all the mules...when you actually read the bush tax cuts...it gives you clear vision into the minds of the men that lead our country...they look at us as livestock...our happiness and prosperity balanced against the taxes we can raise without involving the ruling classes profit or wealth...
following a republican agenda when you are a working class american is tantamount to punching yourself in the face to save the bully the trouble...and why can't they see this...because the other side uses fear...fear the homosexuals will change all their sons and daughters into queers...fear that everyone having healthcare will over burden the system and you will languish and die...fear that black people might actually be your equal...fear that Moslem's will put veils on your wife and make you walk goose-step to the mosque...but you see these things are to keep your mind on other things...to distract...from the real issue ...we are all far more alike than the pedigreed dogs that run our nation...and again naively i believe our president... because of his common roots.. and his color...wants to look after us...all of us...not just the ruling class ....and the rich and privileged will stop at nothing to regain control...and repaint the picture to a rosy american landscape...even if that painting is done on tissue paper...
