okay I get it ...there are a whole lot of pissed off white people...who blame the depression, the war, the great global warming lie, the bank failure, sick poor people and bad weather on weekends on Barack Obama( he's a black illegal immigrant lest we all forget)...led by gosh and shucks mental decathlete Sarah " oh no you don't" Palin...they forge forward to take back "our government"...they deny that stimulus money helped our still ailing nation...these self same idiots would be dragging out their muskettes as the banks failed...even the most anti obama critics understood the effects of an american bank collapse...even g dub...I understand that the health care reform is not everybody's cup of curative...but I actually watched a guy with a picture of hitler and a transposed obama head try to tell the "liberal media" that "it ain't a pertdinal attack, But I just hate sochalidm"... In reality there is a world wide rise in conserva...

a couple thoughts on el tigre

Watchin the masters yesterday...brought tigers whole mess to a final concentrated point to me...the idiocy of his behavior and our collective interest and concentration on that behavior, brings a couple of things to mind...If you have never been around the rich and famous it is easy...very easy to elevate them to a pedestal above the rest of us...but to my mind it is exactly that fact that so skewed our reaction to his problems... tiger...billionaire, golf god, marketing guru, trademark... tiger... is just a guy...a sort of clumsy jock...never good with words...who probably wasn't all that successful with women before his fame...not great looking,,,and in a room full of great looking...personable guys would never be the center of attention...but fame got hold of him...and he, admittedly, succumbed to people, normal people and their desire for a piece of him...this doesn't excuse him for anything...it just makes him a guy...a bad guy...but a guy...many of our society's great...

a thought about baseball

Image
I forget sometimes how much fun it is to listen to a baseball game...there is no TV that gets a game in the kitchen,,,so i have to listen...and i am transported back to being a little kid...the radio on in the garage...my dad put zing around on some piece of furniture...listening to Harry Kalas...imagining the game and the field... in those days only the best teams were on TV...the Phillies were on occasionally..or maybe i was just wasn't in front of the TV that often...the excitement in Harry's voice when Dick Allen crushed one to deep left... Baseball was different then...it was the national pastime...some argue it still is...in fifth grade Mr. D the toughest teacher in all of Audubon Elementary would wheel in a TV to catch a business man's special...even if it wasn't the world series...I can't argue that its fun now...my I-phone spitting out the score...inning by inning...but it's fun to remember your youth and how simpler things gave us such joy

finishing a project

You know I always figured that once you learned something it stayed with you forever...right...like riding a bike..until i jumped on a bike in key west,,,in traffic...crashing into bushes...banging off parked cars...not so easy...you know...but as I've gotten older I realize its the how you remember ..as opposed to the actual doing..two very different concepts....I worked as a carpenter in my youth..I was ok at it...enough to make a living...but not all that inspiring...so when the beautiful girl wanted a walk-in closet in the bedroom...I was like sure...no problem.. i can do that... weeeellll.. what a load of bunk...first of all the memory is the first thing to go...in reality...I was a half assed carpenter more than twenty years ago...I had the tools and the energy to attack my projects...but I was an artist "working" as a carpenter...like a actor working as a waitor...( they are never good waiters!!!)...but now at 53...my eyesight is not the greatest..so those minute...

So I already wrote an entry for the week...but I saw something...on my way to the flea market for some fruit and chatchky(sp)...we came upon a caravan...about 20 or so cars, trucks, bikes, etc...they were festooned with american flags and signs...their purpose in blowing their collective horns and driving at twenty miles an hour was to bring your attention to their resolute hatred of the president and the health care bill...here's some stuff I noticed of the vehicles , bikes included, 17 were imports there wasn't a single person of color in or on any vehicle there were alot of bush/chenney/...McCain/palin bumper stickers the signs hanging from the cars said we don't need a trillion dollar deficit ( you know the deficit that was there before Obama took office) the leader of this group had a banner that read...i pay for my own health care...go get yours I am continually annoyed by the misiformed nature of this group...they buy whatever lie corporate america tells them...if ...

You know after this suckass winter we are actually gonna have a spring here in floreeda...some years it goes from 60 to 90 overnight and you don't notice the spring...but this year everything is brown from the frost...the grass...the plants...very un tropical,,, this morning its 70 and sunny and the birds are alive...winter is truly over and let the summer begin...it rained for a full 24 hours ...which is a sure sign that spring is here...and i have four orchids getting ready to bloom...it will all be green again before we know it...the water is way to cold to swim yet...around 50 or so...but i think i'll catch a sunset and a drum circle on the beach...maybe even stick my tootsies in the cold blue water...the tiki bars will be poppin...tourists will be layin on the beach...but for the locals it will be the first time in shorts and a tank top...everyone was out last night catchin some music and being able to be outside without a parka...elation was in the air...magnificent

my honey do list...

those of you that know me know...that i have vagabond spirit...not in the moving from country to country...state to state...kind of thing..but the apartment to house...from mill to cabin...kind of thing...renting always afforded me a new vision...new environs....well lately ...for the past 5 years I have shared a house with "the beautiful girl' and at times her sister...her daughter...and my dogs..cats ...iguana etc...the point being ...my honey do list was comprised of mow the lawn...wash the cars... and thats about it... Well our little house..."the beautiful girl" owns it...is old by Florida standards...1940 or so...not so old when you consider that I lived in a cabin built in 1684 in pa....but still by Florida standards ancient...take for instance that it has no heat...most of the housing built out by the beaches where for winter livin...and hence never really experienced a winter like the past one...so...no heat...no air..they didn't live here in the summer....
