lots to watch, see and hear these days...republicans are cautiously circling the one bone that is...the republican presidential nomination...but do you ever ask yourself...why do these people...these specific people...want to be king of america...or in some cases queen...democrats have a different criteria...liberal...pro abortion...anti war...anti business...you get the rap...but the "pubs"...they get the stupid and loathsome ...palin...shes that girl from high school that you hoped would get the Carrie treatment at the prom...her boyfriend was always the school bully...we have "the newt"...another irrelevant has been...trying to relive old glory???...Tim Pawlenty the  ex governor of minesoda...yes i spelled it wrong.. and lest we forget...michele " the truth" Bachman...darling of the tea baggers...re writing history...one small mis- step after another...throw in a huckabee, a romney , a santorum and you have a whose who of the uniformed and "unitelligencia"...Let me get this straight...i have been greatly disappointed  by my party and my president over the last couple of years...i am sickened by the fact that so many of can be led down a path by people whose sole interest... is the betterment of their respective bank accounts...we have elected felons...uneducated zealots...racists and fundamentalist extremists to our senate and house...we have put judges on our courts who have obvious conflicts of interest with our constitution and the people it protects...but the republicans live on blind to their culpability in our national dilemma... they voted for a war that bankrupted us...backed a president that made sure his billionaire cronies raped the middle american tax payer...followed through with deregulation of the banks and credit institutions and as we speak are fighting in congress for the rights of american companies to bring in foreign workers in  place of paying american academics what they are worth to keep america competitive in the global marketplace...the tables are upside down and the truth is we are our own worst enemy...so put on your stupid hats...we are about to get a taste of dumb unlike any we have ever seen...

As I age, i find that I am far less accepting of life's little faux pas.  I am surly.  I growl. I snap at unsuspecting irritants.  I look in the mirror and see  what my life has pulled down on me.  Wrinkles, saddle bags, hair in very strange palaces.  I expect things...simple things to proceed as planned.  If my cellular bill, for example, is due on the 24th, I expect it to be taken out on that date. Today is your memorial service.  Today your friends gather at historic Gracie's to tell tales, laugh and drink to your memory.  I worked for Gracie, thanks to you, sneaky Pete and Steve.  Its fitting, a legendary spot, to pay tribute to the man that inspired me and unknown others to go chase our dreams.  I loved when we cooked together and I found my passion, standing next to you.  You shared your love and unfathomably incredible knowledge of music with me.  I found Jason Ricci, Eric Lindell, Los Lobos and David Migden in our "MO, wait till you hear this moments".  I endured your love of all things Zappa and I survived Zappa torture.  To those unfamiliar with this, it involved the can, copious amounts of inhaleables and song after song of your archives.
