omg...omg..omg...in the verbage of our times..are you fuckin for real..poor trevon..bad asshole zimmerman..a nation with young people dying  in foreign lands transfixed by the trial of a cop wanna be and a very troubled young black man ..who incidentally is now dead...i have never heard so much stupid purposeless posturing on a court case in my life..am i insensitive to the loss of yet another young African American teen to violence of our times..no i am not..it is senseless and it is commonplace... but i can argue if trevon was frightened of the man a full foot shorter than he...why not out run his fat ass...or smack him in the head.. laugh and run like hell for his parents house...no I'd sit on him and pound his head into the concrete...in Florida i read a bumper sticker.."never bring a fist to a gun fight'...ITS FLORIDA...you can bring your gun to work..keep it in your car in case someone tries to take your parking place or your lunch money...we had an old man cut off a biker...the enraged biker followed him to publix...(huge surprise and local chuckle  inserted!!)he was trying to pull the 80 year old man out of his car to explain motorcycle etiquette and old guy shot him...he was scared... i was at a bar...surprise..slurred indignation echoed thru the drunken cavern when the verdict was handed down...comfortable white folks debated the stand your ground law..the injustice of the decision...they feigned white angst at the  the indiscernable jury decision...or.. they flew their racist flag high and proud..retelling the story with the "If it was me" adjunct...and whether or not their  black neighbors would rise up and riot ...and if they did... how will that affect their homeowners policy...black patrons lamented the poor kids demise and whispered i would'a capped him... all sides were heard from... but look folks ..those of you with your death grip on your sacred weapons..this America..the average iq is less than 70..we elected george bush twice.. America's
gun laws and the stand your ground law is like giving every  can of gasoline away with a free burning match...the justice system is for sale..a good store bought lawyer can defeat a d.a. most days.and a young black kid, even posthumously,  doesn't stand a chance... unless..and this is an important point a black buddy of mine pointed out...he stays clear...way clear of the system...so was this justice??...was this truth?? ..we can't handle anything close to the truth...but boy do we love court tv...

As I age, i find that I am far less accepting of life's little faux pas.  I am surly.  I growl. I snap at unsuspecting irritants.  I look in the mirror and see  what my life has pulled down on me.  Wrinkles, saddle bags, hair in very strange palaces.  I expect things...simple things to proceed as planned.  If my cellular bill, for example, is due on the 24th, I expect it to be taken out on that date. Today is your memorial service.  Today your friends gather at historic Gracie's to tell tales, laugh and drink to your memory.  I worked for Gracie, thanks to you, sneaky Pete and Steve.  Its fitting, a legendary spot, to pay tribute to the man that inspired me and unknown others to go chase our dreams.  I loved when we cooked together and I found my passion, standing next to you.  You shared your love and unfathomably incredible knowledge of music with me.  I found Jason Ricci, Eric Lindell, Los Lobos and David Migden in our "MO, wait till you hear this moments".  I endured your love of all things Zappa and I survived Zappa torture.  To those unfamiliar with this, it involved the can, copious amounts of inhaleables and song after song of your archives.
