the fat man and the beautiful girl return...
" vacations are like orgasms...once you have one, you just can't wait to have another!!!! and once you have been to isla you are a orgasm addict...
estoy enamorado de esta isla mujeres!!!
it was smaller than i thought...it had way fewer non mayans than i ever could have expected...it was bigger...taller ...rockier...longer and sweeter than i ever could have imagined...we needed our limited spanish...and it got a lot better cause we had to speak it...our hotels were exceptional...the food was simple to a degree that delighted the chef in me...the fisherman came in at three pm...pick your dinner out of the cooler...fried, served with frioles negro...tortillas, ensalada and a shrimp soup...the soup had one giant prawn surrendering to a fish fume spiked with cilantro, carrots and habanero...the sauce picante...mucho caliente, just doesn't cover it...basically a hab...smashed seeds and all, sea salt, lime and water...por hombres...the waiter laughed...checking to see if i had died after consuming some...we ate at the mercado municipal in the morning...lunchetta de alexis and giordina...huevos mutinaldo(sp)...scrambled eggs with shredded pork, queso and matta...wrap it in a tortilla...a different family version of salsa picante...this one sorta brown and a little thicker...left you breathless and sweating...and all for 60 pesos...basically 4 bucks...
it was hot...the temperature i mean...and only a breath of air on the coast...the zona comercial...three blocks long...enough shopping to satisify most anglos...shooting over on the ferry from cancun...snorkling at garafon park...70 bucks us...to go to the beach...we choose a crumbling aged resort right next door...garafon de castillo...50 pesos to get in...same water,,,same fish...taco de pescado...2 cervecas 100 pesos...just very few anglos...which scares alot of americans...so yeah we are brown...baked...our bellies full of fish and tecate...i have never been so relaxed and uninformed...no tv...and even one hotel with no air...but you know me... the hotels were gorgeous...more on the fantastic people we encountered next week...adios
Good to have you back....
