the beach...no repubilicans and a tropical storm

Sometimes on tuesday nights the beautiful girl and I head out to the beach...see whats going on...check out Sean's bar...go see Loretta...say good bye to an old friend, bound for new adventures, Kimmy...and so it was last night...we ventured north through what is normally quiet beachside towns...but I had a sense of curiosity...what with the RNC in town...would I be deluged with tea-party idiots...drunk, dancing and espousing their jingoist rhetoric...would I have to indulge anti Obama shots along with my Grand Marnier...but a very funny, very telling thing happened as I journeyed down our beaches...there was no-one here...no more republicans on our beach than normal...we have million dollar homes, you see...it is the habitat for their species...but the bars weren't packed with Romney revilers...they hadn't come...talked to a sales manager at our lowes W property...the Don Caesar...30% occupancy..come to find out they had booked 1600 room nights for the Rnc and were using...

So I am listening to the box and hear the story about Rham Emanuel referring to some politicos as "retards".. And then the head of this weeks "retard" brigade Sarah "what the fuck" call for his immediate resignation for denigrating all people with developmental disabilities. What a fucking "retarded" thing to say. Yet proving once again that this vapid glamor hog has nothing credible to offering in any intelligent conversation. No one was calling anyone with any disability any names. He was calling college educated legislators "retards". He could have used imbecile, fool, dolt, moron, pinhead or twit. But to his never ending mugient pain, he did not. His words had the same meaning and he could spared us all another 10 minutes of "palinism" for the tea party" retards" to latch on to. We all know who we are referring to when the word "retard" is used and its never the most special person in the room. ...

time to beat feet...blow this popcorn stand...6 day work shifts approaching like the black clouds of the oncoming storm...5 weeks till no life...so where do we run to...the beautiful girl and i...is it "nawlins...for some abita and beignets...back to philly for a huge dose of family and friends...mexico again...nah probably not...or the old stand by...the keys...i just hate that drive...three hours of nothing from naples to homestead....beautiful girl keeps trying to convince me to stay in islamorada more than overnight...says its fun and that i am missing the small town appeal...maybe so...always on my way to key west...to the parrot and the schooner...cuban breakfast...mojitos...lunch at pepi's...or maybe something new...tried southbeach...missed the point...too urban...too tryin to be cool...maybe its just that the fakeness swallows up the scene...love the hotels...drinks at the delano...or lauderdale...beautiful water and great beaches...downtown has a cool ass food scene...
